Dr Amanda Partington joins the Women's Sports Alliance Advisory Board

WHY ARE YOU EXCITED TO BECOME A WSA ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER?

Being an Advisory Board member allows me to give back to the world of sport, which has given me so much across my life. To support, promote and champion women on their sporting journeys is hugely important and role modelling the pathways and shaping the future for athletes, coaches, managers through this role is a privilege.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE NEW 17 SPORT X WSA PARTNERSHIP?

The partnership between 17 Sport and the WSA, widens the platform for change and strengthens the philosophy and ambition to shape the future of Women's Sport. This is a significant step forwards, which is already delivering different and better opportunities for Women in Sport.

WHY ARE YOU EXCITED BY THE WSA MISSION? (MISSION IS: BY 2023, WE WANT FEMALE ATHLETES TO REPRESENT AT LEAST 50% OF THE HIGHEST PAID ATHLETES IN THE WORLD LIST - IN 2023, THERE WERE ZERO!)

The exciting thing about the WSA mission is once achieved we will have made a significant contribution to the sporting landscape and sports women will have full access to the support, they require to be the best they can possibly be, whilst raising the performance levels and spectator value of women's sport.

HOW DO YOU SEE WOMEN'S SPORT EVOLVING OVER THE NEXT 10 YEARS, AND WHAT ROLE WILL ORGANISATIONS LIKE WSA PLAY IN THE NEXT DECADE?

‘No doubt, women's sport is on the up’. Increased visibility is promoting a sea change for young girls who aspire and dream to be elite athletes. We have a ripple effect taking place and the opportunities to go to uncharted spaces are out there and to be a part of this now is hugely exciting. Watch this space!
